About this course
Gangneung, on Korea's east coast, is known for Chodang tofu curdled with seawater, jangkalguksu and potato dumplings at Jungang Market, mulhoe and raw fish from the East Sea, and a coffee culture that began at Anmok Beach.
This 2-night, 3-day itinerary arrives at Gangneung Station by KTX and covers one neighborhood per day — downtown (Jungang Market, Wolhwa Street, Ojukheon, Seongyojang) on day 1, Chodang, Gyeongpo and Anmok on day 2, and Sacheon and Jumunjin on day 3 — with a Gangneung specialty at every meal. You stay two nights at one hotel near Gyeongpo Beach.
Day 1: walk from the station to Jungang Market for jangkalguksu and potato dumpling soup, pick up a jjamppong bun, stroll Wolhwa Street, then take a bus to Ojukheon and Seongyojang before dinner of jjamppong tofu in Chodang.
